Warriors falter at the death - For the Guyana Amazon Warriors, it was a tale of two halves with the ball. Their bowling unit was absolutely brilliant up until the 17th over, executing their plans perfectly to keep the Falcons under wraps. However, the wheels completely came off in the final three overs, as the bowlers capitulated under pressure and leaked a massive 60 runs. While Dwaine Pretorius went wicketless, every other bowler chipped in with a wicket each. Romario Shepherd, however, had a night to forget, finishing as the most expensive bowler after being taken to the cleaners at an economy rate of 17 runs per over.
Late fireworks rescue the Falcons - The sluggish tempo shifted dramatically once Jangoo was dismissed, injecting much-needed pace into the innings. Though ABF found themselves at a modest 122 for 4 by the 17th over, a sensational finishing kick completely transformed the game. Moeen Ali provided the initial spark, and Fabian Allen offered crucial support, but it was Shadab Khan who stole the show at the death. Shadab played a gem of a cameo, blasting a blistering 30 runs off just 9 balls to propel the total to a formidable 182 for 5 by the end of the 20 overs. Hasan also chipped in with a score in the 30s, while each of the top three batters contributed scores in the 20s.
Steady start and middle-overs slump - After being sent in to bat first, Antigua & Barbuda Falcons got off to a decent start, navigating the Powerplay to reach 44 for 1 in the first six overs. By the 10th over, they were well-positioned at 69 for 2, setting a solid foundation to launch into the death overs. However, the momentum slowed down drastically in the middle phase. A 47-run partnership between Hasan Nawaz and Amir Jangoo came off 41 balls, a sluggish scoring rate that severely hindered free-flowing run-scoring and kept the Guyana Amazon Warriors firmly in the contest.

Guyana Amazon Warriors are on 12 points and have three matches to get just one more win to seal the top spot themselves. Victorious captain of Antigua & Barbuda Falcons - Moeen Ali says that this is their best win so far, and they wanted to show that they can beat Guyana in their own backyard, which feels special. On Amir Jangoo, he says that he's generally done well to lay the foundation, but does agree that they would like a few more runs up top and not leaving too much for the death overs. On the bowling, Ali says that the opposition got off to a flier, but the wicket was a bit on the lower side at one end and didn't want to bowl spin to Gurabz inside the Powerplay. Also mentions that they have a good attack, not the best, but pretty well-rounded.
Imran Tahir of Guyana Amazon Warriors - Tahir says that they gave away a few too many runs in the death overs, and they need to regroup quickly and come back stronger tomorrow. On Romario Shepherd's bowling, he says that he felt Shepherd's cutters would be useful, and a few lapses in the field didn't help either. Goes on to add that one of their top four needs to be out there till the 15th over. He ends by saying that this is a kind of defeat where he can't blame anyone, and hopes that it was just an off day for the team.

Falcons turn adversity into defeat - Antigua & Barbuda Falcons were teetering along with the bat for about 16-17 overs and Guyana Amazon Warriors had done a fairly decent job with the ball. However, Shadab Khan's fiery cameo uplifted them to over the 180-run mark. With the ball, Alzarri Joseph came out breathing fire, going past the 145 kph mark regularly, and even though he got hit for a few boundaries, his ability to take wickets proved to be decisive. The Falcons picked up 4 wickets in the Powerplay and then the spinners came in and were relentless. Shadab Khan and Sufyan Moqim shared 4 wickets amongst them, picking up two each as Joseph came back in to get a four-wicket haul, with Joshua James also contributing with a couple of wickets. Overall, it was a fine all-round bowling performance.
Guyana's joy ends - After six successive wins and dominating opponents, Guyana Amazon Warriors have finally fallen - and how! This is the first time this season that they have been bowled out, and it was a rather uncharacteristic batting display. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mavendra Dindyal did start off with a plethora of boundaries, but soon enough, the wickets started to fall. They lost 4 wickets inside the Powerplay, and the game was lost then and there. Mohammad Nabi held up one end, but he saw just wickets fall at the other end. The only partnership of any substance late in the game came between Nabi and Imran Tahir as they added 18 runs for the 9th wicket, but as soon as Tahir got out, it was all over pretty soon.
Player of the Match - Shadab Khan gets the accolade for his all-round display (30 runs off 9 balls and 2/19 with the ball). He starts by talking about his batting and feels that his role is such that he needs to maximize the deliveries, and sometimes it comes off like today. Also mentions that he had a bit of an idea of which bowler to attack and goes on to say that he tries to do any sort of job that the team needs him to do. On his bowling, he says that the pitch was a bit on the lower and slower side, so he tried to keep it simple and not do anything funky. On the win, he says that this kind of win is special, especially against a team like Guayana and hopes that they can perform like this in the playoffs as well.
Finishing on a high - Antigua & Barbuda Falcons have now played all of their league stage games, and they have become the first team to inflict defeat on the mighty Guyana Amazon Warriors this season. The Falcons also go temporarily top of the table with 13 points to their name, and with a plyoff berth already sealed, they will look to relax as they will get an extended break.
