Time for the national anthems - We are all set to begin. Both sides along with the match officials stride out in the middle and line up for their respective national anthems. First up will be the national anthems of Trinidad and Tobago, followed by Pakistan. And finally it will be wrapped up with the iconic West Indies cricket anthem.

Pitch Report by Samuel Badree - Samuel Badree says it is nice and cool at the moment, around 29 degrees and feeling like 31. He notes they are in the middle of hurricane season, so there is every chance of rainfall in the match and hopefully it is minimal. Looking at the surface, he says it is pretty even with brown grass right across it, which should hold the pitch together for all five days. He adds that bowling in the first session will be tricky for the opening batters because there will be seam movement and swing, and the wicket will then need to balance that with good batting on Days 4 and 5. Spin is expected to come into play later on. Badree also says a Test match between Pakistan and West Indies is always unpredictable.

Babar Azam on the toss - Babar Azam says that had Pakistan won the toss they would have batted first as well, but since the toss isn’t in their hands they will look to make the best use of the little bit of moisture in the pitch while bowling. On leading the side again, he adds that there are a lot of good things within the group and the focus is on sticking to their plans, believing in themselves, and executing what they have worked on as a team. He notes that they have been doing a lot of positive things in preparation for the West Indies series, with a camp and matches over the last two to three months, and now it is about carrying those positives into the games. Babar also confirms that Ali Usman is making his debut today.

Skipper of West Indies - Roston Chase says West Indies want to bat first because the wicket looks a bit dry and they want to make use of the best part of it before it deteriorates later on. On staying motivated with so much cricket, he says the Test Championship gives the team extra energy as they are aiming to finish 5th or 6th on the table, and that pushes them to give as much as possible. He adds that playing the first-ever Test at the Brian Lara Oval is going to be a good experience, and with the great man having passed away last week it is a sad moment for cricket, but they will give their best to try and make him proud. Chase also confirms the team combination: 3 fast bowlers, 1 spinner and an all-rounder in Justin Greaves.
