Brave with the mid-game advantage - A very solid outing in the field from Southern Brave and they have done well to fight off that counter-punch in the middle phase to finish on a high. Issy Wong was prolific with the ball, picking up 3 wickets, and was miserly as well. Tilly Corteen-Coleman continued to impress with a couple of wickets and a couple of catches in the field as well. Sarah Glenn was the only one who went for a few runs, but she too picked up a wicket, and now it's up to their batters to get the job done. The odds are currently stacked against Sunrisers Leeds Women, but we have already seen strange things happen in The Hundred, Women this season. The Powerplay will be crucial for both teams, and it should be an interesting chase, so stay tuned.
Let's hear from one of Brave's speed demons - Issy Wong says there was a bit of grass on the pitch and they tried to make the most of it. She adds that in this format, bowlers often operate from both ends, so adapting to the slope was important. On her variations and when she chooses to use them, Wong says it depends on what the pitch is doing. Looking ahead to the chase, she says they have complete faith in their batting unit to get the job done.
A stop-start innings from the off - After being asked to bat first, Sunrisers Leeds faltered at the start, losing two key Aussie batters early. However, Bryony Smith and Annabel Sutherland fought back hard and seemed to have turned things around with a fifty-plus stand. Once Sutherland got out, though, everything started to fall apart. Smith fell on 48 and even though Deepti Sharma reignited hopes of another comeback, the Sunrisers failed to play a bit of smart cricket and were bowled out on the final ball on 116.
A tale of two halves - A sedate first 50 balls, and after that the game just exploded into life. At the end, Southern Brave Women will certainly be the happier of the two teams heading into the break, and the trend of low first-innings scores continues in The Hundred, Women, 2026.
OUT! SOPHIA TURNER IS RUN OUT! Three run outs in the final set of the innings. Sunrisers Leeds Women have been bowled out for 116. Angled into the sticks, on a length. Baker heaves it away aerially wide of deep mid-wicket. Jemimah Rodrigues covers good ground to her right and palms the ball away from the fence. Jodi Grewcock converges to Jemi's right and throws it towards the bowling end. Turner commits to the third run, but Baker is not interested, and she is left stranded halfway as Bell collects the ball and breaks the stumps.
Near the tramline, on the shorter side, Baker waits for the ball to arrive and slaps it past backward point for a couple of runs.
Offers no pace at all, on a length. Baker pushes away from her body and is beaten past the outside edge.

OUT! CASSIDY MCCARTHY IS RUN OUT! Not great game awareness by McCarthy. Another slower one from the back of the hand by Bell, on a good length. Cassidy throws her hands at the ball but misses. She thinks about the run before being sent back. She does not expect Lizelle Lee to have a shy at her end, and she is caught napping. Lee hits and the third umpire is called into action. The replays find that Cassidy was late in grounding her bat inside the crease and it was in the air when the ball hit the stumps.

OUT! DARCEY CARTER IS RUN OUT! Worst possible start to the final set for the Sunrisers. It is the slower one by Bell, on a good length, outside off. Turner steps out to force it away but misses and the batters try to sneak in a bye. Lizelle Lee gathers the ball and has both gloves on. She releases an underarm throw at the batting end and Carter is found short of her crease.

OUT! CAUGHT! Sophie Molineux picks up a key wicket on her return to the attack. On a good length , darted in on middle and leg. Deepti sinks to a knee and tries to make use of the angle and the pace of the ball. Shovels it wide of short fine leg but not wide enough. Tilly Corteen-Coleman moves to her right and slides to take a fine catch.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Jemimah Rodrigues has been given the award for her 42 not out off 34 balls. She says that she's happy that the team won and credits the bowlers for keeping the opposition down to a low score. Adds that the pitch was good to bat on, but a few balls were certainly holding up, and it was a matter of her not timing the ball well enough. Goes on to laud the likes of Molineux and Grewcock, who instilled belief in her. Mentions that there are ups and downs in a tournament like this, but feels that this team is going to stick together.
Leeds flatter to deceive - The first half of the Sunrisers' innings simmered along nicely, and the contest was very much in the balance. With Bryony Smith and Annabel Sutherland well set at the crease, the Sunrisers would have fancied kicking on. Instead, Sutherland's departure proved to be the turning point, as the innings lost momentum and they fell away in the latter half. Deepti Sharma's knock added a sense of responsibility to the total, but she couldn't bat deep enough to provide the finishing kick her side needed.
Jemi's gem seals it - Sunrisers made an excellent start with the new ball, striking twice in the Powerplay and Lizelle Lee could not do much either. Jemimah Rodrigues and Sophie Molineux came together and absorbed the early pressure, with Molineux also enjoying a reprieve. Rodrigues was busy from the moment she arrived at the crease, and the chase was tailor-made for her. She batted through the innings to ensure there was no late twist and saw her side through.
Two in two for Brave - Last year's runners-up are off to the perfect start with back-to-back wins. With only four players retained from last season's squad, they needed this kind of start to build belief, and they have done exactly that. That's now 10 consecutive league-stage wins for Brave, extending the eight-match winning streak they put together last season.
FOUR! What a knock under pressure, and Jemimah Rodrigues has taken her team over the line in style. Flighted ball, full and around off, Rodrigues brings out the reverse sweep and hits it pretty fine. The ball rolls through the short-third region, all the way into the vacant fence behind. Southern Brave Women win by 5 wickets.

Oh, a better throw and Naomi Dattani was gone for all money. Slower one, on a good length and at the pads. Naomi Dattani swings it away down to fine leg and Rodrigues pushes her for the second run. The fielder throws it to the keeper but Lauren Winfield-Hill has to collect the wide throw and lunge to break the stumps, and that allows Dattani to make her ground.

OUT! CAUGHT! There was no need for that from Jodi Grewcock, and Sunrisers Leeds are still in it. The back-of-the-hand slower ball from Annabel Sutherland, pitching it fuller and outside off. Grewcock goes hard at it but mistimes it badly towards extra cover. Phoebe Litchfield squats under it and takes an easy catch.
A slower yorker, lands it perfectly on middle. Jodi Grewcock whips it across, but Darcey Carter at short mid-wicket cuts it off brilliantly to her right with a dive.

A slight hold-up in play. Not entirely sure what caused the delay, but it was only a brief one and we are ready to resume.

No ball! Good fielding in the deep. A very high full toss on middle and leg, Rodrigues gets inside the line and pulls it to the right of fine leg. Darcey Carter does well to save a couple of runs for her side. The third umpire has a look at it and it is deemed a No Ball. Free Hit incoming.

FOUR! Rodrigues is finding the gaps now and the Brave are in the ascendancy. Slow and short, pushed well outside off. Rodrigues reaches for it and cuts it hard to the left of sweeper cover for another boundary. 16 needed now off 13 balls.
FOUR! Smart batting. Back of a length, slower and wide outside off. Rodrigues comes down the pitch and lifts it well over mid off for a boundary.

Just safe! Full ball on off, Jodi Grewcock jams it out just beside the pitch on the off side, and Rodrigues calls her through for a single. The keeper, Lauren Winfield-Hill, scampers towards the ball and scores a direct hit at the bowler's end, but Grewcock is just in.
