Alex Carey attempted to shift the momentum, but after a half century partnership he and Marnus Labuschagne fell in quick succession. Aaron Hardie and Sean Abbott showed some promising effort, but it was too many runs for them to get in the end. It was a fine bowling performance from the Sri Lankan spinners. Maheesh Theekshana was the standout taking four wickets, while both Dunith Wellalage and Asitha Fernando contributed by taking two wickets each.
