OUT! Caught. Nathan Lyon to Morne Morkel. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, outside edge to gully, by Smith. The final wicket falls as Lyon takes two identical wickets within his first five balls of the day. Another edge outside the off stump takes the ball into the hands of Smith who takes his second catch in the over. Elgar carries his bat through in what has been a pure masterclass of batting. He finishes on 141 not out, the third time this year he has carried his bat throughout a Test innings, incredible. South Africa finish on 311 all out and leave the game well balanced.

Nathan Lyon to Morne Morkel. Off break half volley, outside off stump on the front foot, shoulders arms to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Paine.
97.3
FOUR! Nathan Lyon to Morne Morkel. Off break half volley, off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past long off for 4 runs. A half-volley from Lyon and it tempts Morkel into the big shot as he drives the ball over the head of mid-off. He connects with it fairly well and it trickles away to the ropes.
97.2
Nathan Lyon to Morne Morkel. Off break yorker, middle stump on the front foot defending, to silly mid on for no runs, fielded by Lyon.
97.1
OUT! Caught. Nathan Lyon to Kagiso Rabada. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to gully, by Smith. Wow, Lyon comes into the attack, loops one up outside the off stump and Rabada goes for the drive on the very first ball. The ball grips and turns nicely and it draws the outside edge of the bat and goes into the hands of Smith at slip who takes a simple catch. South Africa are nine down now and this innings could be coming to a close rather soon.
96.6
Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot working, hit pad to gully for no runs, fielded by Khawaja.
96.5
FOUR! Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Half volley, off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past long on for 4 runs. What a beauty from Elgar as he picks up the half-volley from Hazlewood and drives it powerfully through the air, straight back down the ground. It lands just an inch short of the ropes and four is his reward. That also brings up the 50 partnership between these two and what a vital partnership it has been. The fourth biggest partnership in this innings has been 14 and so the value of this one can not be underestimated.
96.4
Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot working, leading edge to short extra cover for no runs, fielded by Bancroft.
96.3

Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot defending, to point for no runs, fielded by Starc.
94.4
Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Length ball, outside off stump on the back foot working, well timed to deep mid wicket for 2 runs, fielded by Lyon. A two worked into the leg side brings up 300 for South Africa. It has been an excellent effort so far this morning by the South African batsman. One cause for concern though is that Elgar seems to be looking at his arm between balls on a regular basis.
94.3
Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot working, mis-timed to short leg for no runs, fielded by Hazlewood.
94.2
Josh Hazlewood to Kagiso Rabada. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, to fine leg for 1 run, fielded by Cummins.
94.1
FOUR! Josh Hazlewood to Kagiso Rabada. Half volley, off stump on the front foot pushing, well timed past long off for 4 runs. Rabada plays a lovely punch back down the ground to send the ball racing away for four. Lovely stroke from the number 10 batsman.

93.5
Pat Cummins to Dean Elgar. Half volley, off stump on the front foot pushing, well timed to short extra cover for no runs, fielded by Bancroft.
93.4
FOUR! Pat Cummins to Dean Elgar. Back of a length, middle stump on the front foot driving, thick edge in the air uncontrolled past third man for 4 runs. Cummins provides some width there and it allows Elgar to free his arms. He does just that with a drive that sends the ball down to backward point for four. It seemed to be a thick edge off of the bat but he never looked in trouble there.
93.3
Pat Cummins to Dean Elgar. Length ball, to leg on the front foot pushing, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Paine.
93.1
Pat Cummins to Kagiso Rabada. Length ball, to leg on the front foot pushing, to extra cover for no runs, fielded by Warner.

92.5
Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to silly mid on for no runs, fielded by Bancroft.
OUT! Caught. Kagiso Rabada to Josh Hazlewood. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, outside edge to slips, by Amla. The wicket has come nice and quickly for South Africa who concede just 10 runs this morning before claiming their wicket. It came out of nowhere really after Hazlewood had played in a couple good shots this morning. In typically tail-end batsman style Hazlewood prodded at one unnecessarily outside the off stump and Amla took a simple catch at first slip. The all important third innings is to come next.
69.4
Kagiso Rabada to Tim Paine. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air under control to deep mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Maharaj.

67.6
FOUR! Kagiso Rabada to Josh Hazlewood. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, well timed in the air under control past third man for 4 runs. A beautiful shot from Hazlewood as he leans back to the shorter ball and simply lifts it over the top of the slip cordon and down to third-man.
67.5
Kagiso Rabada to Josh Hazlewood. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, to mid on for no runs, fielded by Morkel.
67.4

Kagiso Rabada to Josh Hazlewood. Reverse Swing-Out length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by de Kock.
67.2
FOUR! Kagiso Rabada to Josh Hazlewood. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot glancing, Gloved past fine leg for 4 runs. Hazlewood gets four as Rabada bowls too short and straight into the body of the tail-ender. He got some contact on the ball with his glove and it squirted down to fine-leg for the first boundary of the day.
67.1
Kagiso Rabada to Josh Hazlewood. Back of a length, off stump on the back foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by de Kock. Good morning and welcome back to the third day of this decisive third test match here at Newlands. It's advantage South Africa after some brilliant spells of bowling throughout all three sessions of yesterday allowed them to pick off the Australian batsman. Not to mention, a spirited 50-run partnership between Elgar and Rabada at the start of the day, similarly replicated by Lyon and Paine later on for Australia. The Aussies may be on the back foot here but if they can get a few more this morning and put in a good bowling performance throughout today it could bring them right back into the game. The forecast has a few potential showers around and those overcast conditions could aid the bowlers the seamers have picked up 17 of the 19 wickets so far in this game.
66.6
Morne Morkel to Tim Paine. Out-swinging length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, shoulders arms to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by de Kock. A strange decision by the umpires who have decided the light isn't good enough to continue here. There hadn't been any previous talks between the two umpires out on the pitch except the use of the light measurer. Both the batsman and bowler's want to stay on the pitch but it unfortunately comes down to a matter of safety that is written into the laws of the game. Stumps has been called and Australia finish the day with their last wicket intact. Tim paine has been resolute throughout his gritty innings and it has helped to pull them to within 66 of South Africa's first innings total. Not to forget Lyon's brilliant cameo. The pacers took all the wickets with the ball and Morkel surpassed 300 in the process, there were some excellent spells of both batting and bowling throughout the day in what has been a really well contested match. It's advantage South Africa at the end of day two but it's not a huge advantage and the third innings could be the all important one throughout tomorrow and perhaps beyond.

OUT! Caught. Josh Hazlewood to Morne Morkel. Short, outside off stump on the back foot Fended, thick edge to gully, by Khawaja. Morkel goes for six to finish the South African innings after he fended the short ball from Hazlewood straight into the hands of Khawaja. Philander remains unbeaten on 52 and a mightily impressive South African second innings comes to a close on 373 all out. Four big contributions from Markram, De Villiers, De Kock and Philander pulled them up and away from the reach of the Aussies. Lyon took his 300th Test wicket in the process and congratulations to the spinner who has been a constant in this Australian side for a number of years now. That innings leaves Australia chasing an unlikely 430 to win this match, all eyes will be on who is to step out to open up the innings and if their mental game will be in shape to put in a good performance here.

Floatd up by Lyon and Maharaj can't resist the big shot, coming down the track and launching the ball down the ground. OUT! Caught. Morne Morkel to Josh Hazlewood. Short, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, to third man, by Philander. Hazlewood plays needlessly at another short ball and he's scooped it into the hands of Philander down at third-man. Morkel takes the wicket and has his five-for, what a fantastic bowling performance from the man who could well be playing his final Test match. Australia have lost all 10 of their wickets for just 50 runs and all in the space of one session in the final embarrasment which concludes a disasterous game marred with controversy and bad temper. All of the bowlers played their part once the flood gates opened and took the wickets within the space of just 19.4 overs. What a finish here at Newlands as South Africa take a 2-1 lead in the series and Australia now boast the worst collapse of the week, I thought England would have secured that hands down. Credit to the umpire's for keeping the players on the pitch later than they have throughout the first three days of this Test match in order to get it completed. South Africa will be elated and Australia have some serious issues in their camp to address over the next few days. Bancroft and Warner had looked so promising before Tea but following their dismissal only one other batsman could reach double figures in an utter shambles of a performance. Thankyou for joining us, the series is still alive with one game to go, the drama won't be finished just yet. Remember this game for both Lyon and Morkel passing 300 career Test wickets, Morkel's brilliant five-for in the second innings which brought about his best bowling match in potentially his last game and some top quality batting performances from South Africa throughout.

OUT! Run Out. Keshav Maharaj to Tim Paine. Stock length ball, off stump on the front foot pushing, to cover, fielded by Bavuma, by de Kock. South Africa have nine! Lyon goes for a diamond duck as they attempt to scamper through for a single and Bavuma's collect and throw are pin-point leaving Lyon just short of the crease. Australia are down to their last wicket now, what an incredible final session we have seen here.

OUT! Caught. Morne Morkel to Mitchell Starc. Short, outside off stump on the back foot defending, to short leg, by Markram. Starc gives his wicket away after a blow to the head and Morkel has his fourth. Another short ball from the experienced bowler and Starc could only fend it into the hands of Markram at short-leg. Scintillating cricket from South Africa but Australia's collapse really has been oustanding.

OUT!

FOUR! Nathan Lyon to Morne Morkel. Off break half volley, off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past long off for 4 runs. OUT!
Josh Hazlewood to Dean Elgar. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot working, hit pad to gully for no runs, fielded by Khawaja.

Pat Cummins to Dean Elgar. Length ball, to leg on the front foot pushing, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Paine.
Pat Cummins to Kagiso Rabada. Length ball, to leg on the front foot pushing, to extra cover for no runs, fielded by Warner.

OUT!
Kagiso Rabada to Tim Paine. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air under control to deep mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Maharaj.
Kagiso Rabada to Josh Hazlewood. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, well timed to third man for 1 run, fielded by Elgar.

OUT! Caught. Nathan Lyon to Keshav Maharaj. Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to long on, by Cummins. Floatd up by Lyon and Maharaj can't resist the big shot, coming down the track and launching the ball down the ground. He got a top edge though and it went to Cummins at long-on who took the catch comfortably. Lyon moves onto 301 wickets and claims his fifth of the test match as he continues on.

OUT!

APPEAL! OUT changed by umpire to NOT OUT after REFERRAL. Keshav Maharaj to Tim Paine. Stock ball half volley, to leg on the front foot working, hit pad for no runs, appeal made for L.B.W. Paine survives the LBW decision as he's given out on the field but it's reviewed and it's pitching outside leg-stump. Australia survive, for now.
