  • This will be just the third men’s ODI meeting between Netherlands and Bangladesh, with the Tigers winning by a six-wicket margin in their only clash in the men’s ICC Cricket World Cup (ODI) on 14 March 2011.
  • After beating Afghanistan in their opening game of the 2023 men's ICC Cricket World Cup, Bangladesh have lost four matches on the trot; the last and only time the Tigers registered a longer losing run in the competition was a stretch of five games in the 2003 edition (11 February – 1 March 2003).
  • Netherlands have won just one of their last 18 meetings with full-member sides in men’s ODIs when batting second on the day (T1 L16), a three-wicket victory against Zimbabwe on 21 March 2023.
  • Bangladesh have won just one of their last five men’s ODIs when batting first on the day (L4), a six-run victory against India (15 September 2023); however, the Tigers have lost each of the last three games in the format when defending a total.
  • Netherlands have scored 44.3% of their runs in the ongoing men's ICC Cricket World Cup via boundaries, the lowest of all teams; in fact, they have scored a boundary once in every 11.5 deliveries, second slowest of all teams behind Bangladesh (11.7) in the competition this year.
  • Bangladesh have logged a bowling dot ball rate of 70.5% during the Powerplay phase in men’s ODIs played in 2023, the highest of all full-member sides; however, they have logged a bowling dot ball rate of more than 50% in just one of their five innings in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup (62.9% vs Afghanistan).
  • Vikramjit Singh (903 runs) is 97 away from becoming the ninth Netherlands batter to score 1,000 runs in men’s ODIs; however, his sole ton in the format was a 110-run effort against Oman on 3 July 2023.
  • Mushfiqur Rahim (nine ODI tons) is one away from becoming the outright second highest among Bangladesh batters in centuries scored (Tamim Iqbal – 14) in men’s ODIs; the last time Rahim logged a ton in the format was an unbeaten 100 against Ireland (20 March 2023).
  • Bas de Leede has an ODI bowling strike rate of 30.8, the second best by any Netherlands bowler to have bowled in at least 20 innings in the format (Ryan ten Doeschate – 28.7); however, his economy rate of 6.3 is the worst of all bowlers in the aforementioned category.
  • Batters have left 11.7% of Shoriful Islam’s (Bangladesh) deliveries in the ongoing men's ICC Cricket World Cup, the highest such rate by any player to have bowled more than 20 overs in the competition this year.
