Easy chase? It was an all-round bowling effort by the Spirit. Yes, they did concede a few too many in that middle phase, but with Liam Livingstone putting his hand up and bowling a superb spell by picking a couple of wickets, the contributions from the others also seeped in nicely. The ball has nipped and bounced, and has also gripped for the spinners. And with likes of Noor and Dawson in their ranks, they will fancy to defend this. Up for a quick chat - Tim Seifert starts by commenting on his knock and feels that conditions were tough and he had to dig in deep. Adds that no matter what game they play, they will look to get off to a good start and can't rely on anyone else. Mentions that it is his first time playing at Lord's and he loved it and wants to enjoy his cricket. Feels that if they had a couple of partnerships at the end, they could have pushed 160, but 140-odd is also a defendable total.

Seifert's lone fight in vain Buttler was eventually dismissed as Zampa broke that emerging stand, but the Super Giants stayed afloat courtesy of Seifert and Klaasen holding things together. In truth, this was Seifert's lone battle, and he brought up a well-earned half-century almost single-handedly. But the moment he departed, everything unraveled quickly, and the Super Giants' innings fell away, managing just 17 runs across the final three sets.

A breathless start through pace - Willey and Milne came out hurling fire, nailing their lines and lengths so precisely it felt like the coin had decided every ball. They stayed glued to the stumps and refused to give the batters a free swing. The payoff was brutal, as the Super Giants tiptoed through the Powerplay with just 26 on the board, and Markram trudged back after a series of heavy blows to the pads. Seifert and Buttler worked hard to form a partnership of substance through the middle phase and did manage to up the ante with their 49-run stand.

An inning of three halves - A solid comeback by the London Spirit towards the final stages of the innings. For the Super Giants, their finish was almost identical to the way they started. They crawled out of the Powerplay, followed it up with a strong middle over phase. However, they just kept losing wickets one after the other towards the end and couldn't get the desired finish. Overall, the hosts would be the happier of the two sides as they back to the sheds.

It has fallen apart badly for the Super Giants towards the backend. Livingstone has put his hand up and been absolutely spot on with the ball. Josh Tongue is in at number 10.

MSG's late batting collapse - An ordinary batting performance from the Manchester Super Giants had left them with a total that might have been far from enough after a massive late-innings collapse. Facing disciplined opening spells from London Spirit's David Willey and Adam Milne, the Super Giants endured a highly subdued start, exacerbated by Aiden Markram falling for just 1 run off 10 balls. While Tim Seifert managed to anchor the middle phase with aggressive boundary-hitting and Heinrich Klaasen injected a brief injection of run-rate urgency, the team completely lost its way towards the end. Manchester's bowling unit proved outstanding as a whole, with Gus Atkinson leading the line with a brace, Sonny finishing with two match-winning scalps, and every other bowler bar Noor picking up a wicket each to secure their first points of the season.

Early blows leave London reeling in chase - Chasing a target of 139, the London Spirit Men endured a dismal start to their innings on a pitch that offered plenty of encouragement to the bowlers. The visitors found themselves immediately on the back foot, losing two crucial top-order wickets with just 14 runs on the board. Manchester's disciplined opening bowlers hit their lengths perfectly, creating intense early pressure that hampered the chase and forced London into an immediate defensive damage-control phase for a period.
