We are back for the chase! The umpires are back out in the middle and so are the players of India Women. It will be the duo of Dilara Akter and Juairiya Ferdous to open the innings for Bangladesh Women. Kranti Gaud will get proceedings underway with the ball. Let's go...

Bangladesh bring about their own demise - After opting to bowl first, Bangladesh Women had India at 45/1 at the end of the Powerplay. However, their bowlers put the screws on and gave away just 14 runs in the next 4 overs. The second half wasn't Bangladesh's best with the ball, and again, the fielding let them down further. They conceded 90 runs in the final 10 overs, and those big hits at the end will hurt Bangladesh a fair bit. Right then, 150 is what Bangladesh Women need to win and upset the favorites to book a place in the final. What Bangladesh cannot do is be sloppy with the bat, like they were in the field. India, on the other hand, will be feeling fairly confident but would love early wickets. Stay tuned, as the run chase is up next.
A chat with India's hard-hitting wicket-keeper - On the lower middle order finally delivering tonight, Richa Ghosh says it means a lot, adding the group had been chasing this exact kind of finish for a few matches before it came together. On the plans with the ball, she stresses to execute what's been discussed in the team meeting and what has already worked for the side so far. On how crucial it is to read the surface, Ghosh calls it an important skill, one built around picking up how the wicket is behaving. She describes tonight's pitch as a touch slow with turn on offer, and credits the batters who came in ahead of her for helping her build that read of the conditions.
Verma uses luck and power - Everyone knew that the surface was sluggish one and India even lost Smriti Mandhana very early in the innings. It was Shafali Verma who continued to throw caution to the wind, hitting plenty of boundaries between those dropped chances. Verma notched up a vital half-century. Pratika Rawal gave good support to Verma, and Harmanpreet Kaur held up one end, picking up a couple of big hits late in the innings. A couple of late cameos from Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma propelled India to a very defendable total, and they will be fairly pleased.
Runs on the board - India Women just about fail to get to the psychological mark of 150 runs, but 149 is still a pretty solid total on board. Bangladesh Women will be a tad disappointed as they had plenty of chances to put pressure on the Indian batting order, but they have paid a hefty price for all those dropped catches.
OUT! FULMALI IS RUN OUT! 12 runs off the final over and India Women finish on 149/6. Marufa slides it across the batter, on a good length, from around the stumps. Bharti Fulmali swings wildly at it, looking to club it downtown, but misses out as the ball is grabbed by Nigar Sultana behind the stumps. Harmanpreet Kaur dashes through for a bye, but Bharti is a bit late to respond. Nigar tosses the ball to the bowler, and in return, Marufa collects it nicely, runs back to the bowling end and whips the bails off with Fulmali fairly short of her crease.

OUT! CAUGHT! A quickfire cameo from Deepti comes to an end. India Women are 149/5, with one legal ball remaining. Fuller and angling in from around leg stump. Deepti backs away to the leg side, looking to launch it over mid off, but the timing lets her down totally. The ball loops off the toe end to the right of Rabeya Khan, who tracks it well over her right shoulder and pouches a good catch on the edge of the circle.
Proactive running! Full on the leg stump, Deepti hammers it down to the right of long on. The call is straightaway for two as the fielder slides to her right to cut it off and they do hustle through for the second run.
SIX! CLEAN STRIKE! 9th six of the innings and promoting Deepti over Fulmali has worked wonders so far for India. Slower one by the looks of it, full and on the stumps. Sharma stays leg side of the ball and absolutely carts it over the leaping long on fielder for a six. Akter under pressure.
FOUR! Slashes and slashes hard. Pitched fuller and outside the off stump, Deepti Sharma gets enough width to swing her bat like a lumberjack and carves it over backward point for a cracking boundary. 150 is well within reach now for India, with 4 balls left.
Leg cutter on a length, from around the stump. Deepti moves leg side but still gets cramped up for space and shanks it back to the bowler.
Who will bowl the final over? It will be the pacer, Marufa Akter.
SIX! Oh, my word! Some shot from Kaur. Poor ball from Nahida. Slips in a full toss on the bodyline and Kaur walks forward, gets her bat under the ball and mercilessly swings it over deep mid-wicket for half a dozen runs.
Looped full and wide outside off. Kaur caves it over cover-point for a couple of runs.
A bit short and on the stumps, Deepti pulls it to deep square leg for a single.
The next batter is Deepti Sharma.
OUT! RICHA IS STUMPED OUT! Clever bowling by Nahida as she breaks a budding partnership. A left-armer's delight, that one. Richa shows her cards early by stepping down the track to give it a mighty whack across the line. Seeing that Nahida pull the length back and the ball spins away after landing, beating the outside edge and nestling into the keeper's gloves. Richa is too far outside the crease but she does try to dive back to get her bat in the crease, but Nigar Sultana has all the time in the world to dislodge the bails. India Women are 128/4, with 9 balls remaining in the first innings.
Serves it fuller, on off, Kaur uses her feet and blasts it down to long off for a single only.
On a fuller length, around off, Kaur looks to sweep it over square leg but misses and is hit on the front pad.
Nahida Akter (3-0-15-0) is back on.
Dropped short, outside off, Ghosh cuts it hard off the back foot, but finds the fielder at backward point.
SIX! Powerful shot from Ghosh! Leg break from Shorna, full and outside off, Ghosh gets to the pitch of the ball, swings through the line and hammers it over the long off fielder who watches the ball sail over like a mere spectator.
WIDE! Far outside off, on a length. Ghosh goes for a cut by reaching out but misses. The ball spins beyond the tramline.
Short, outside off. Harmanpreet drags it across by pulling to the right of backward square leg, and a fumble there allows them to amble across for a single.
In the air... lands safely! Slides the ball outside off, full in length. Richa sits down on a knee to slog it over mid-wicket, but ends up slicing it off the toe end. Luckily for her, the ball lands in front of the deep mid-wicket fielder and they cross for a single.
Big mix-up between the batters, but the danger is averted. But Kaur won't be pleased one bit. The second run was definitely on but Shafali denied it. Full and outside off. Harmanpreet Kaur rocks onto the back foot and pulls it away to deep square leg. The Indian captain sets off for a second but Ghosh sends her back from more than halfway, forcing a retreat to get in. A wayward throw from the deep lets her off the hook, though, and she is home safe.
Very slow through the air, short on the off stump. Richa Ghosh tries to play the reverse scoop but misses completely and the ball deflects off her back thigh and rolls wide of short third for a leg bye.
Just the 5 bowlers used by Bangladesh Women so far. Marufa Akter, Nahida Akter, and Sultana Khatun all have an over up their sleeve. However, Shorna Akter has now been tossed the ball. Interesting call at this stage of the innings.
At the peak of their powers - India walked into this semifinal as the clear favourites, and they backed that tag up sincerely. They have not missed a single Women's Asia Cup finale and will now wait for the second finalist. It will be decided through the second semifinal, which will be played between defending champions Sri Lanka Women and Pakistan Women on Friday, 11th September. The victorious Indian captain - Harmanpreet Kaur says that she's happy with how things are going. Adds that there was value in giving the ball a rip in the second innings as well and the bowlers used the pitch well. Further, Harman says that the small partnerships worked really well and these small things matter a lot in the bigger picture, lauding the likes of Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Shafali Verma receives the award for her fearless batting. She scored a match-winning 64 (40), which included 7 fours and 3 sixes. On battling the conditions during her knock, Shafali Verma admits the humidity got to her out there, to the point where breathing itself became a challenge at times. She says the focus was on staying composed, controlling her breathing, and leaning on grounded strokes as she worked to build her innings. On being asked about the aggression in the Powerplay, she says it was very much by design, pointing out that scoring is simply easier in those first six overs. She sees cashing in during that phase, finding the fours and sixes, as very much her role in the side.
The captain of Bangladesh Women - Nigar Sultana starts by saying that they didn't bowl to the best of their abilities today and they also had lapses in the field. Feels that it wasn't pressure that got to them but rather just a bad day. Sultana further higlights the fact that they bowled well and created chances, which they didn't take and they didn't have a good Powerplay with the bat. She ends by saying that they are doing well in limited overs cricket, but want to play a complete game.

Shafali, the fearless - The scorecard flattered India more than the performance deserved. Shafali Verma's 64 off 40 balls anchored the total, surviving three dropped catches and a run-out chance gone begging, an innings gifted almost as much as it was earned. Mandhana fell cheap, and neither Harmanpreet Kaur nor Pratika Rawal ever found fluency, leaving it to Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh down the order to rescue things from looking distinctly ordinary. Bangladesh's seamers, Marufa Akter and Sultana Khatun, leaked runs, but the spinners kept things tight enough to leave 149 within reach despite the imperfections.
Hunted in a pack - India will be delighted with how they bowled, and especially with how the spin quartet stepped up when it mattered. Sree Charani struck first again, finishing with excellent figures of 1/14 that included a wicket maiden, while Deepti Sharma stayed at her consistent best with a three-wicket haul. Prema Rawat impressed too, and between the four of them, the spinners kept their foot on Bangladesh's throat throughout, never letting them settle or breathe freely. One area India will need to introspect on is their ground fielding, with several straightforward chances going down that they'd ordinarily expect to hold. It was that kind of evening where catches went begging on both sides, but on balance, India were just that little bit better.
Heartbreak for Tigresses - Nothing went right in the chase for Bangladesh. Dilara Akter and Juairiya Ferdous gave them a positive start up top, but the fragile batting behind them couldn't absorb the pressure. Nigar Sultana was the one they leaned on to steady things, but her wicket fell at the worst possible moment, and from there it was one dismissal after another as the side simply caved under the weight of the occasion. Shorna Akter kept fighting alone till the end, but she was always fighting a battle that was already long lost.
5.41 pm GMT (11.11 pm IST) - This is dominance in its purest form, and once again India Women remind everyone why they are considered Asia's cricketing gold standard. The tradition continues unbroken, as they stroll into their 10th straight Women's Asia Cup final. Not only does the unbeaten run stay intact, but they have steamrolled every side put in front of them, with contributions coming from all corners, with bat and ball alike.
OUT! HIT WICKET! A double whammy for Nandani Sharma to proceedings, and India Women win by 40 runs, marching into their 10th successive Asia Cup Final. Another back-of-the-hand slower one from Nandani, floating it on middle and leg. Rabeya Khan goes on one knee and is through her slog early. The ball goes over the leg stump and Khan ends up landing the bat on the top of the stumps whilst completing her swing. Bangladesh Women end with 109/7.

OUT! CAUGHT! Nandani Sharma picks up a wicket as well. Slower ball, pitched full and wide outside off. Fahima Khatun gives the charge and gets nowhere near the ball, slicing it towards backward point. Prema Rawat makes no mistake and Nandani brings out a 'shushing' celebration. It was a back-of-the-hand delivery as well.
FOUR! That's nicely done by Fahima. Length ball on off, Fahima shuffles to the off side and nails the scoop down to fine leg for a boundary.
Good length on middle, Akter makes a bit of room and lofts it down to long off for a run.
Slower one, drifted into the pads. Shorna Akter hops back and looks to work it away but gets hit on the pads.
Length ball on leg, Akter backs away and smacks it straight to mid off.
Righto, time for the final over of the match. Nandani Sharma (1-0-5-0) will wrap it up.
Really slower through the air, floated just outside off. Fahima Khatun attempts the reverse sweep but the ball turns away and beats the bat.
Darted in at the toes, Shorna nearly yorks herself as she steps out and smothers it to the leg side for another single.
Floated up at the stumps, Fahima comes forward and drives it down to long on for a single.
A full ball outside off, Fahima Khatun goes for the conventional sweep and misses again.
FOUR! A risky but better option to hit with the spin. Flatter one on off, Khatun brings out the reverse sweep, hitting it fine of short third for a boundary. The 100 is up for Bangladesh Women.
Another attempt to play across the line, that too against the turn. Tossed up, full and outside off, Fahima Khatun lunges to drag the sweep away but misses.
Shorter over middle, pulled aerially off the back foot and towards mid-wicket for a run.
Dragged length at the stumps, hit away down to long on for a single.
Swing and a miss! Flighted up, over the eyeline and just outside off. Shorna Akter hangs back and swings across the line but is well beaten.
Good length, just outside off, cut away towards point.
Oh dear! Richa and Nandani Sharma get into an unpleasant collision. Ghosh's neck gets jerked off Nandani's right shoulder while attempting the catch. Both players are down and clearly in discomfort, and the physio is being called out to take a look at them. But they both are back on their feet eventually and smile it off. But such collisions can turn really ugly. Thankfully, it is nothing serious and we are good to resume.
DROPPED! Oh, my! A nasty collision in the field. Shafali Verma sees Shorna Akter stepping out and pulls the length back. Shorna goes through with the heave and miscues it high towards square leg. The keeper and the fielder at short fine leg both go after it. Richa Ghosh sees Nandani Sharma coming and calls but neither of them backs down. Ghosh's helmet batters into the right shoulder of Nandani and both players are down on the deck. Two taken, and hopefully, both of them are fine.
India will be confident enough that they have taken one step into the finale. Bangladesh Women need 62 runs from 18 balls. Shafali Verma will bowl out. 0/21 in 3 overs so far.
