The tourists' torrid tour with the bat continues as the Proteas quick bowlers run riot in Johannesburg. It was a fantastic bowling display, with no let up at all and all five of them chipping in. Only Kohli and Pujara were able to withstand the assault for any length of time, meaning their bowlers have plenty of work to do to keep them in the game. The South African batsmen will have just over 20 minutes to survive this evening.

My word, I think an offspinner would be proud of getting that much movement off the pitch. No one is really sure what has happened, there are smiles from the bowler, the umpire and the skipper. In the end du Plessis asks for the review but the ball moved way too far and was missing leg.

This Test match seems like it's being played on fast-forward. We're now heading into the Indian second innings and there is still plenty of time left on this second day. South Africa have the lead but only just, so this will effectively be a second innings shoot-out. The visiting bowlers were excellent today, with Jasprit Bumrah bagging a maiden Test five-wicket haul, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar hooping the ball around corners to get three scalps himself.

No hesitation from the umpire, the finger goes up in an instant. Bumrah has a smile on his face, this isn't his greatest delivery but he'll certainly take the result. It's a juicy full toss that Phehlukwayo swings hard at, but a little hint of inswing helps it go past the inside edge and into the pads. It's absolutely plumb but the batsman reviews anyway, more out of hope than expectation.

The wickets just keep on tumbling at The Wanderers, that's the seventh of the day and the first for Shami.

That was a valiant effort by India, defying the hazardous conditions to scrap their way to a total of 247. Contributions from Kohli, Rahane and Kumar as well as some tail-end hitting means the hosts require 241 to seal the whitewash. Philander, Morkel and Rabada all chipped in with three wickets, but you get the sense things got away from South Africa in the afternoon session. They will need at least one big partnership to really make the tourists worried. This is going to be a fascinating fourth innings.

Unbelievable, Elgar is left stranded on 86 as Ngidi tries to defend the ball and the Indian players appeal for it enthusiastically. It's given not out on the field but India review the decision and there's a fine outside edge through to the keeper. Ngidi departs for four and India have won this Test match! What a brilliant day of cricket we have witnessed here from a neutral perspective. Unfortunately for South Africa, their hard work at the start of the day was unravelled as the pitch took hold and the bowlers found their line and lengths. It was too difficult for the new batsman to play themselves in and a collapse has left them 63 runs short of India. It really has been an entertaining Test match here at the Wanderers, albeit perhaps one surrounded with controversy, a result was reached an in an entertaining fashion nonetheless. In a slight piece of irony, Elgar is left standing, carrying his bat through the most difficult of conditions after being hit in the helmet in a moment that brought a premature end to yesterday's play. The final wicket gave Shami his five-for, in a scintillating spell of bowling which helped swing this game back in their favour and ultimately hand India victory.

Admittedly, his technique wasn't quite out of the textbook.

A suicidal run from The South Africans and Pandya could of thrown the ball about three times, deciding to get as close as possible before throwing the ball at the stumps. He still misses though! Geuninely unbelievable cricket here as South Africa lose another, their seventh in the last 36 runs, as Rabada edges through to the slips and Kumar has his first wicket of the day. It's an oustanding fightback from India who despite a large amount of pitch assistance, have finally started to find the line and lengths in this innings that is seemingly striking fear into the South African batting line-up at the moment. We're well into the tail now, and the resilt in Indias favour is looking more and more likely.
