Shreyanka Patil is one of the most exciting young all-rounders to emerge from Indian women’s cricket, renowned for her attacking off-spin, athletic fielding, and steadily improving batting. Born and brought up in Bengaluru, she developed her game through Karnataka’s domestic system, initially juggling academics with cricket before committing fully to the sport. From an early age, her ability to extract turn, vary her pace, and bowl with an attacking mindset marked her out as a natural fit for the shorter formats, while her discipline and work ethic helped her progress through age-group and senior domestic cricket.

Her rise accelerated during the inaugural Women’s Premier League in 2023, when she turned out for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Tasked with bowling in high-pressure situations against some of the best batters in the world, Patil impressed with her fearlessness and control, quickly establishing herself as a reliable middle-overs option. That foundation set the stage for a breakthrough 2024 WPL season, where she finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker and played a pivotal role in RCB’s maiden title triumph. Her knack for breaking partnerships, combined with sharp catching and timely lower-order runs, made her one of the standout performers of the competition.

It paved the way for her foray into international cricket in the two white-ball formats. Her journey, however, has not been without challenges. Injuries saw her miss a major chunk of the 2025 action, including the WPL. She returned to competitive cricket through the Women’s Caribbean Premier League, turning out for the Barbados Royals. Despite the uncertainty around how effective she would be after a long injury layoff, RCB chose to retain her for the 2026 season.
