Player Biography

UAE cricket has often been shaped by players who moved to the country in search of work but carried with them a burning passion for the game. For some, that passion eventually opened the door to international careers, and among those inspiring journeys is that of left-arm quick, Muhammad Jawadullah.

Arriving in the Emirates in 2020 as a 20-year-old electrician, cricket was far from his immediate priority. In his hometown in Pakistan, his experience was largely limited to tennis-ball matches, though he always dreamed of playing with the hard ball. Despite long work hours, he carved out time for local matches and soon became a regular in club cricket around Ajman. His breakthrough came in April 2022 at nationwide bowling trials conducted by UAE Cricket under Robin Singh, where his left-arm pace stood out among hundreds of hopefuls.

Though ICC’s residency rules delayed his eligibility, Jawadullah was retained as a net bowler, using the time to hone his skills. His growth accelerated when he debuted in franchise cricket, turning out for the Sharjah Warriors in the inaugural International League T20 in 2023. The exposure against world-class players was invaluable, and once he became eligible for selection later that year, UAE wasted little time in giving him his chance. He made his T20I debut against Afghanistan, before earning his ODI cap against the West Indies.
