S Kannan
A sports writer in 38th year and still a hard-core news junkie. Having begun in the print medium in 1987 with the Indian Express and then shifting to Hindustan Times and the India Today Group, S.Kannan has constantly strived to improve and adapt. Making the transition from newspapers to digital medium, Kannan has kept pace. At the same time, he continues to be a Consultant Editor with Millenium Post purely in honorary capacity. To have covered five Olympics live from the venues, five Asian Games live plus 20 Grand Slams, Kannan is bitten by the travel bug. Speed, accuracy, good command over the English language and flair for writing, Kannan writes on every single sport. In addition, his association with radio, TV and YouTube marks him out as sharp. In an era where sports writers are being challenged by former players turning experts, Kannan takes pride as a professional in evolving every day. To have immense passion for tennis and covered 20 Grand Slams – Wimbledon and US Open – Kannan loves the challenge of beating deadlines. Just as athletes like to keep pushing hard and rewriting records, Kannan sees journalism as a window to belt out bylines daily, be it news or views. One word defines his hunger for news: Insatiable.
